Summary
The Estimator works integrally with the Lead Estimator, Superintendents and Project Managers to provide accurate and timely bid submission for upcoming projects.
Essential Functions

- Perform site surveys and investigations.
- Prepare quantity survey for project.
- Recapitulate quantities for pricing.
- Prepare estimates for work which can be completed with the company’s labor, material, and equipment.
- Request, receive, and evaluate subcontractor and major material quotations.
- Prepare estimate summary for all or a portion of total estimates as directed.
- Advise and assist in conventional bids to management.
- Assist in preparing technical narratives for RFP and RFQ responses.
- Report to the VP – Operations and Lead Estimator the risks and special considerations of a project for profit evaluation.
- Review successful estimates with project management prior to job commencement.
- Ensure the timely completion of estimates within tight deadlines and assigned budgets, including timely reviews with senior leadership.
- Seek cost-effective methods of construction used by superintendents and project managers for inclusion in estimating projects.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Physical Demands
This role will involve time in an office environment and at a job/customer location(s) which may involve:
Bending
Lifting to 50 lbs.
Operating in harsh weather conditions
Reaching for objects
Sitting for long periods of time
Speaking to co-workers, vendors, and customers
Typing
Usage of PPE
Walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. Evening and other weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel is expected from time to time; remote job site visits needed to understand the scope of work for bidding will be a responsibility for this position.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field is preferred.
1+ year of direct work experience in an estimator capacity with construction companies, specifically serving the energy industry.
Expertise with contract management, risk management, and pricing.
Knowledge and experience utilizing HCSS estimating, preferred.
Strong skillset of Microsoft Office Suite of Products, especially MS Excel.
Ability to work well within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
