Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and driven Recruiter to specialize in recruiting foremen to lead our gas construction crews. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring our teams are staffed with skilled, experienced leaders who can manage on-site operations efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of the natural gas and construction sectors, as well as a proven ability to attract and secure top talent for supervisory roles.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Sourcing & Talent Acquisition

  • Develop and execute targeted strategies to attract high-quality foreman candidates within the natural gas and construction sectors.
  • Leverage industry networks, job boards, and trade organizations to connect with potential candidates.
  • Build relationships with technical schools, apprenticeship programs, and trade unions to create a steady talent pipeline.

Candidate Screening & Selection

  • Conduct detailed screenings to assess technical expertise, safety compliance knowledge, and leadership abilities.
  • Coordinate and conduct interviews with hiring managers to ensure alignment with job requirements and team dynamics.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner closely with hiring managers, project leaders, and field supervisors to understand specific staffing needs, timelines, and project requirements.
  • Provide guidance on market conditions, talent availability, and competitive compensation packages.

Job Advertising & Branding

  • Craft compelling, industry-specific job postings tailored to foreman roles.
  • Promote the organization's employment brand at trade shows, job fairs, and industry events to attract top talent.

Compliance & Pre-employment

  • Oversee pre-employment processes, including drug testing, background checks, and reference verifications.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company hiring policies.

Market Research & Reporting

  • Stay informed on industry trends, workforce challenges, and regional labor conditions affecting the natural gas and construction sectors.
  • Track and report recruitment metrics, such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and candidate quality, to drive continuous improvement.

Pipeline Development

  • Build and maintain a database of skilled foreman candidates for current and future hiring needs.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with potential hires to keep them engaged with the company.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred but not mandatory with extensive industry experience).

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of recruitment experience, with a focus on natural gas or construction roles, specifically foremen or field supervisors.
  • Familiarity with the operational demands and safety requirements of the natural gas and construction industries.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong sourcing and networking skills, with the ability to connect with hard-to-find candidates.
  • In-depth understanding of technical roles and responsibilities within natural gas and construction projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), LinkedIn Recruiter, and other sourcing tools.

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with OSHA standards, safety regulations, and industry certifications (e.g., NCCER, API, or similar).
  • Experience working with unionized labor and collective bargaining agreements.

Preferred Attributes

  • Existing network of contacts in the natural gas or construction industries.
  • Bilingual (e.g., English and Spanish) to communicate effectively with diverse candidate pools.
  • Experience recruiting under tight timelines for large-scale or critical projects.
